Political Action

From the coal fields of West Virginia to the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean, CWA District 2 is making its mark on the political and legislative lives of our members. As our government impacts our lives every day, CWA is present, influencing legislators' decisions and working to elect lawmakers who have the workers' interests at heart.

Virtually every day Congress and state legislatures make decisions that vitally affect us-regarding telecommunications policy, taxes, social security, safety and health, workers compensation, pensions, our children's schools. The list is endless.

That is why CWA members of District 2 are involved at every level in the democratic process. We work to elect candidates who represent the concerns of CWA members and workers in general. We communicate our views to elected officials. And most important of all, we work to educate our members on the important political issues and encourage them to register and vote.

Our message is felt in Charleston, WV; Richmond, VA; Annapolis, MD; Washington, DC and in each locality. Working together, CWA members are on the job, working to improve conditions not only for ourselves and our families but for all working people.
